Editor's Note: Due to the holiday, this week's issue will be hitting newsstands 24 hours later than usual. Those who receive their issues through mail will see their paper begin arriving Friday. Thank you for your understanding!

Happy 4th of July! Due to weather, the fireworks display originally scheduled for Monday was postponed to July 7 at dusk at the Jaycees Complex. A huge thanks to the Henry G Fix #23 American Legion and the City of Garretson for bringing this wonderful display to town. Also: a building on Main saw its facade fall, driving occupants from the apartments in the building; a whimsical journey through southeast South Dakota included Sherman and Garretson; the Split Rock Farmers Market has been a success so far; and 10U and 12U softball had great seasons this summer, plus more!
