In his work van he has a power unit and tools and lock components so that he can repair and install locks at any location.
Much of the work that he does is working for apartment building owners, replacing locks when a tenant moves out.
Mike has a collection of historic locks and locks from all around the world. He loves the intellectual challenge to find a lock missing a key or combination and then trace down the right key configuration or combination to make it work again.
Mike is ten-year member of the Minnesota Army National Guard. He is in a Finance Unit and drills once a month in Minneapolis. He has been deployed twice, once to Afghanistan and once to Kuwait. In both of the places to which he was deployed he has used his locksmithing expertise to improve the security of his unit. For that work he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal.
Mike has been married to Lisa for six years (who many of us remember as the former Editor of the Garretson newspaper). Lisa has a son, Jared, who is in the final stages of Basic Army Training at Ft. Sill, OK.
Mike is a long-time member of Henry G. Fix Post 23.
Mike will become a very valuable addition to the Business Community in Garretson.
