Blue Dragon Academy celebrates retirement of Donna Larson

Date:

Donna Larson has graced Blue Dragon Academy with her presence for an impressive 8 years. She began her journey with BDA as a beloved preschool teacher and had since taken on the delightful role of supporting the Monkey Room and providing much-needed breaks for other dedicated staff.

Larson resides in the charming town of Garretson with her partner-in-crime, Eddie, and is also a proud mother to her son Joshua, who resides in Aberdeen.

At Blue Dragon Academy, Larson reigned supreme as the queen of bingo.

"The moment she steps into the Monkey Room, the children eagerly beseech her to engage in their favorite game," said Executive Director Heidi Fink. "Always prepared, Donna is known for her treasure trove of spice drops and gummy bears, which she bestows upon the winners."

However, Larson retired last Friday, leaving a bear-sized hole in the children, staff, and parents' hearts. Although well-deserved, Fink noted "it's a bittersweet mix of sadness and excitement."

"Her invaluable contributions to Blue Dragon Academy over the years have made her an integral part of our community," Fink continued. "We will deeply miss her infectious sense of humor, her nurturing spirit, and the warmth of her friendship."

In her days of retirement, Donna envisions a tapestry of adventures filled with camping, motorcycle rides, selling treasures on eBay, and savoring the tranquility of her day room.

Let us all extend a heartfelt shout-out to Donna for her unwavering dedication-not only to Blue Dragon Academy but to all the children she has lovingly educated throughout the years.

"With our deepest gratitude, we celebrate you, Donna. From all of us at Blue Dragon Academy!"
