City Council Swears in New Mayor & Members

Date:

The May meeting of the City Council began with the Pledge of Allegiance. Council members Richelle Hofer and Gloria Sanders were not present in person, though Sanders did join by phone for her final meeting as a council member.

The council began with old business, with an update on the Street Project. City Finance Officer Anna Uhl stated that the three licensed garbage contractors in Garretson will be placing two dumpsters for Third Street residents, but final placement was yet to be determined. A quick discussion ensued about making sure all people along Third Street were cared for, and the Council agreed that it would definitely be a Community effort. Uhl described the Project Manager, who would be wearing a yellow shirt, but requested that if anyone has questions, to please call the City Office so they could put residents in contact with the contractor.

Next, the council thanked Mayor Tim Mullin for his eight years of service, presenting to him a plaque with their appreciation. Mullin also thanked the council for all the work they do. The old council then motioned to adjourn, and reconvened as the new council. Continued on Page 2
